Steve began his career in stop loss insurance in 1989 as Regional Marketing Director for the Brougher Insurance Group; at the time one of the largest, most innovative stop loss underwriting organization in the industry. Steve’s success in developing sales of stop loss business continued as the company evolved into a multi-line underwriting organization by the name of VASA Brougher.
In 1998 Steve left VASA Brougher to be part of a management team which executed the start-up of IMG-Stop Loss, a wholly-owned subsidiary of International Medical Group. For the next twenty years IMG-Stop Loss became known as a stable, reliable underwriter of stop loss insurance for self-funded groups of all sizes. In May of 2017, the executive management group of IMG-Stop Loss, of which Steve is a part, were given the opportunity to acquire 100% ownership of the subsidiary, and the name of the company was changed to Certus Management Group. Now in its 24th year, Certus Management Group continues its commitment to providing employers with stop loss solutions that bring certainty of coverage to their self-funded benefit plan.
Steve is a graduate of Butler University, with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, and is actively involved in a number of industry associations, including HCAA, SIIA, SPBA, and the Indianapolis Chapter of NAHU.
