A letter from HUPAC National Chairman Eric Hohlsdorf

I want to begin by sharing with you what an honor it has been for me to represent our great association and contributors as HUPAC national chairman. Many of you have been there to support and encourage me as we worked together to make a difference for NAHU. I can never thank you enough for your trust and encouragement.

It is amazing how fast the past year has gone and to look back on the influence our members have made in policy discussions and election results that will shape our future. Through the past election cycle, there have been several health insurance policy options put forward. It is imperative that HUPAC continues to be a loud voice at the table in determining our future!

In the past, many of you attending Convention have given generous contributions to HUPAC and are still doing so, and not only are we grateful, but your fellow members are grateful you have joined them in the fight. At this time, no matter your past generosity, I am asking you to contribute to HUPAC before the end of Convention, whether it is a single donation or a continuous monthly contribution. Our goal is to bring in an additional $40,000 leading up to and in Orlando.

Contribute Now

As many of you may already know, a bill to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act has been passed in the House of Representatives and is being debated in the Senate for a vote as soon as the end of this month. During this legislative debate, we need to stress to members of Congress how vital it is to preserve the employer tax exclusion so that the government does not increase the tax burden on consumers and employers.

This is why we are reaching out for contributions from our members, whether it’s a donation of $50, $100 or however much you can afford. As we are all aware, there is too much political pressure for nothing to happen. These next few weeks will be monumental to the future of our industry.

Count me in!

On behalf of the HUPAC Board, I thank you again for your support and enthusiasm throughout the years and the continuous confidence instilled upon HUPAC. I look forward to spending time with you in Orlando. As always, the future of NAHU and HUPAC looks bright, as we continue to strive to be the leading health insurance experts in the nation.

Sincerely,

Eric Kohlsdorf
HUPAC National Chairman 2016-2017
